Sliders Action Figures

sliders

I made the Sliders action figures because no one else had. I am a big fan of Sliders and have been since it started. I bought the collector cards when they came out and the card shown above gave me the idea for the action figures. I based the figures on the outfits they are wearing in the picture.

Quinn Mallory

I made the Quinn Mallory figure from a couple different figures put together. I used the head from the Cadet Picard figure. The head was almost an exact double for Jerry O’Connell (who plays Quinn Mallory). You would think they had him in mind when they made the head sculpt. The body is an old Chief O’brien figure I had around. I covered it in milliput to make the sweater and painted it. The legs are from the Sisko from Crossover figure. I painted them blue, but it’s hard to tell the color in the picture I scanned in. He is holding the Timer Gizmo they use in the Series to open the wormholes to other dimensions. I made it from a tricorder that I trimmed down to make smaller. I then painted it to try to match the Timer colors.

Professor Maximillian Arturo

I made the Professor Arturo figure from the Star Trek Harry Mudd action figure. I had to cut all the stuff off of his outfit and then I had to use milliput to make the jacket he is wearing. I also used milliput for his hair and beard. Milliput was once again used to make the bow tie he is wearing. After all the milliput had dried, I painted the figure to finish it off.

Wade Kathleen Wells

This is a new version of Wade Wells. This figure represents what Wade looked like at the end of the first season episode “The Lottery” My version isn’t wearing the brown jacket that Wade wore though. I made the Wade Wells figure from the body of a Counselor Troi figure and the head of a Leeta the Dabo Girl figure. I cut off the ear rings, and got rid of the nose ridges. I added a belt with milliput and painted it. I painted the shirt bright red and painted the pants black. I wasn’t pleased with the old Wade figure I made, so I made a much better figure. You can still see what the old figure looks like in the picture of the 4 figures together.

Rembrandt “Cryin’man” Brown

I made the Rembrandt Brown figure from the body of a Batman Two Face figure and the head of a Congo action figure. I touched up the paint on the hair and painted on a mustache, then the head was finished. All I did to the body was repaint it and cut the gun out of the hand. It took me awhile to get the paint to look right, but it was worth the time.

Here is a picture of the 4 figures together. The colors look a little better in this picture than in the ones of each of them alone. This picture also features my first try at a Wade Action Figure. I think the newer figure turned out much better.

Kromagg

I made the Kromagg from a Star Trek Generations Dr. Soran action figure. I cut off most of his hair and made a few cuts on his forehead and nose for that Kromagg look. I painted his face and hands to get that dirty look the Kromaggs had. I also painted his hair black and painted the symbols on his clothes. The clothes were the correct color I needed to make the Kromagg. It was a fairly easy figure to make.
